Several construction projects are expected to affect state highways in Champaign County this week.
The biggest new impact is on State Route 161.
The highway will be closed between Bean Road and Bullard-Rutan Road Monday through Friday while crews replace a culvert.
The detour is State Route 161 east to State Route 559 south, then State Route 29 west.
Other projects are also continuing this week.
State Route 55 between Old Troy Pike and U.S. 68 will have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for repaving.
State Route 29 between State Route 235 and State Route 560 will have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for repaving.
State Route 245 between Brush Lake Road and Gilbert Road will also have intermittent single-lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. for repaving.
And U.S. 68 between State Route 55 and Springfield Pike will have lane restrictions from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. as crews continue resurfacing the roadway.
Drivers should use caution in work zones and allow extra time for travel.
