Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has announced $17.5 million in grants to help 32 communities across the state improve neighborhoods and upgrade critical infrastructure.
Logan County is among the recipients, with the village of Rushsylvania receiving a $500,000 Critical Infrastructure grant to make needed repairs to its water tower.
The project includes exterior and interior repairs and is expected to benefit approximately 430 residents.
The funding is part of $10 million being distributed to 22 communities through the Critical Infrastructure program.
Another $7.5 million will be shared among 10 communities through the Neighborhood Revitalization program.
Other projects receiving funding across the state include upgrades to water and sewer systems, flood prevention, drainage improvements, road and sidewalk repairs, and park enhancements.
DeWine says reliable water and sewer systems, safe streets, and strong neighborhoods help create better communities for Ohio families.
Ohio Department of Development Director Lydia Mihalik says the grants will help local leaders address important needs, protect homes from flooding, improve essential services, and enhance neighborhoods.
The grants are funded through the federal Community Development Block Grant program.
