UPDATE: 5/8/26 9:30 AM
The Ohio State Highway Patrol has released more details about a crash in Logan County.
The preliminary investigation revealed that a silver, 2009 Honda Civic, operated by Cody Patterson, 33, of Bellefontaine, was traveling southeast on State Route 347, and entered the turn lane for US 33 east.
A blue 2022 Subaru WRX, operated by Andrew Turner, 44, of Kenton, also entered the turn lane and struck Patterson from behind.
Patterson spun off the left side of the roadway and struck a light pole.
The Subaru traveled left of center and struck a 2025 Freightliner, semi-tractor operated by Christopher Simmons, 43, of Marysville.
All three vehicles were disabled in the roadway after the impact.
Patterson and Simmons were both wearing their seatbelts and sustained no injuries.
Turner was not wearing a seat belt and sustained serious, life-threatening injuries and was taken by Medflight to the Ohio State University Medical Center and is in critical condition.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by the Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) and the Perry Township Fire and EMS at the scene.
ODOT neutralized the light pole and rendered it safe.
The requested towing services: Ace’s High, Dads and Hogans Towing, worked quickly to clear the scene to reopen the roadway.
Drug impairment is suspected as a contributing factor in the crash.
This crash currently remains under investigation.

UPDATE: 5/7/26 4:30 PM
A driver suffered life-threatening injuries following a three-vehicle crash Thursday morning on State Route 347 near the U.S. 33 interchange.
