Severe storms and tornado warnings tonight

Tornado sirens were going off in several locations Thursday night as a heavy storm with wind, hail, and lightning rumbled through Logan County.

Hail the size of a ping-pong ball was reported to be with the storm along with the strong wind.

Eye witnesses report that a tornado was spotted in Jackson Center and Russells Point.

Tornado damage was reported possibly at a trailer park.  There was also a house fire in Russells Point.  Multiple accidents and power lines have been reported in the county.

We’ve also received news that all emergency personnel have been dispatched to the Indian Lake area to assist with people trapped in debris, fallen trees, property damage, etc.

AES reports that more than 3,000 customers are currently without power in the Jackson Center and Russells Point areas.  Residents in Lakeview are also reporting damage from a tornado.

The Logan County Cooperative reports a little over 1,700 customers without power.

A tornado watch remains in effect until midnight.
