The City Street Division is continuing its efforts to clear storm damage across the city following Wednesday’s severe weather, with crews working in several areas affected by downed trees and debris.
Beginning at 7:30 a.m. Thursday morning, crews will be flagging traffic down to one-way traffic on S. Main Street between Water Street and Lincoln Street as storm cleanup continues along the roadway. Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays, use caution, and follow directions from flaggers.
After completing work on S. Main Street, crews will move to Scioto Street between Kenton Street and E. Lawn Avenue to remove storm debris in that area.
Additional city crews will also be working throughout the city to address storm damage. Drivers and pedestrians are encouraged to use caution when approaching cleanup crews, equipment, and work zones.
Several streets remain closed due to downed trees, and crews will continue working to clear those areas as quickly as possible.
Residents are also reminded to place storm debris at the curb as soon as possible to help speed up the cleanup process. Branches should be 4 feet or shorter and placed with the limbs facing in one direction. Debris piles should be positioned along the curb where crews can easily access them.
Residents are asked not to block sidewalks or gutters with storm debris, particularly with additional rain in the forecast.
The city says cleanup efforts will continue throughout the day and across the affected areas. Motorists are encouraged to allow additional travel time and use caution around crews working to clear storm damage.
