Tire blowout causes rollover crash on U.S. 33

A tire blowout caused a one-vehicle rollover crash on U.S. 33 Friday afternoon.

According to the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, the crash happened around 4:30 p.m. when a 2009 Hyundai Elantra driven by Cherodan Rockaway, 31, of Bridgeport, was traveling westbound on U.S. 33.

Deputies said one of the vehicle’s tires blew out, causing Rockaway to lose control.

The car left the roadway, rolled over, and came to rest in a ditch.

Rockaway was not injured in the crash.

He was cited for failure to control, and the Hyundai was towed from the scene.
