Mklaine Austin Eggleston-Righter, a 26-year-old former elementary school teacher and high school tennis coach, is facing serious legal consequences after pleading guilty to charges related to child pornography. He admitted to two counts of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person and one count of possessing criminal tools.
The charges arose after the Urbana Police Department was alerted by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) in May about suspected child pornography files. These files were traced back to Eggleston-Righter through his IP address and email.
Eggleston-Righter will be sentenced later this month, and in addition to any prison time, he will be required to register as a Tier II sex offender. He has been released on a personal recognizance bond until his sentencing.
He was employed as an elementary school teacher by Tecumseh Local Schools and was an assistant high school boy’s tennis coach at Urbana City Schools.
We have reached out to each to inquire about Eggleston-Righter’s employment status and are waiting for comment.
