The annual Urbana Holiday Horse Parade is on Friday in Urbana.
Local shops and stores will be decorated and open, full of the holiday spirit at 10 am. Food vendors will begin offering services at 4 and holiday music will fill the streets beginning at 4:30.
Bring your children for a fun evening starting with free indoor holiday activities, games, and storytelling hosted by local businesses around the Square.
Then make your way to Legacy Park for the magical lighting of our 15-foot Christmas tree at 5:30. Listen to carolers, take a carriage ride, patronize the street vendors, and eat while you await the parade.
At 6:30, join in welcoming Santa to town with a Holiday Horse Parade which will travel West on Scioto Street toward the Square. Adorned with lights, jingle bells, and bows, the horses, carriages, and wagons will lead Santa to Santa Land On the Square, where children may visit and get a picture with Jolly Old Saint Nick.
The parade has welcomed Santa Claus into town since 2015 and continues to serve as the official start to the holiday season in Champaign County.
The family-friendly event begins early with afternoon shopping, dining, and children’s activities, culminating with the tree lighting ceremony and parade.
