A 20-year-old Urbana man is facing charges following a reported disturbance early Sunday morning at an apartment on East Water Street.
According to the Urbana Police Division report, officers were dispatched to the apartment around 3:38 a.m. after a person reported hearing banging, cussing, and yelling.
Officers reported hearing yelling when they arrived and encountered Matthew Schrupp outside the apartment. Police said Schrupp was acting erratically and had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath.
A person told officers that Schrupp had kicked and bitten them during the incident. That person did not wish to pursue charges.
Schrupp admitted to yelling and causing a disturbance. He provided a breath sample that registered .140.
Officers arrested Schrupp and transported him to the Urbana Police Division before releasing him to his parents.
He was charged with underage consumption and disorderly conduct.
