A domestic dispute in Urbana led to the arrest of a local woman late last week, according to the Urbana Police Division.
Officers were dispatched around 12:36 a.m. on May 14, 2026 to the 500 block of South Main Street after a report of a physical altercation between a mother and her son.
According to police, the victim reported that an argument between him and Brandy Kizer escalated after the pair returned home from another residence. The victim alleged he was struck, shoved, pulled by the hair, and thrown onto a coffee table during the incident, and later displayed visible injuries, including facial bruising, cuts, and redness.
Police also noted the victim reported that a firearm may have been present in the residence, though officers conducted a search and did not locate any weapon. The victim declined medical treatment.
Kizer told officers the dispute began over music and initially denied that the confrontation became physical, though officers documented conflicting statements and observed damage inside the residence, including a flipped coffee table and items thrown about. She also showed officers a mark on her neck, which she said resulted from the altercation.
After further investigation, Kizer was placed under arrest and transported to the Tri-County Regional Jail on a charge of domestic violence.
