Dillon Brown, 15, of Bellefontaine, has been arrested in connection with a stolen vehicle reported Saturday morning.
The investigation began Friday night around 11:30 when Bellefontaine Police were called to the 300 block of East Sandusky Avenue for a runaway juvenile report.
Officers learned Brown had been found at a friend’s home in Champaign County.
Police were told he arrived in a black car that he had reportedly taken and was driving alone.
Brown returned home while officers were speaking with his mother, but officers were unable to find the vehicle.
The following morning, police were called to the 200 block of North Park Street after a woman reported her 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross stolen.
During the investigation, officers learned Brown had been at his girlfriend’s home the night before.
His girlfriend told police Brown said he had stolen a nurse’s car.
The vehicle’s owner later confirmed she was a nurse and kept her hospital badge inside the car.
When questioned, Brown initially claimed a friend he met on Snapchat had given him a ride.
He denied stealing the vehicle but later admitted he knew it was stolen when he got into it.
The stolen Toyota was eventually found parked behind a home in Bellefontaine and towed to the police impound lot.
Brown was arrested on a fourth-degree felony charge of complicity in motor vehicle theft and taken to the Central Ohio Youth Center.
