Bellefontaine Police say a victim filed a report stating that a tablet and an envelope containing $8,000 in cash were taken after they stayed at the Comfort Inn in Bellefontaine last week.
The victim was booked at the hotel last Friday and checked out Saturday morning.
The report was filed Thursday with Bellefontaine Police because the victim stated they noticed the items were missing on Wednesday (10/23). After searching their work vehicle and home they realized the last place they remember seeing the items was on the sofa in the hotel room.
The victim checked the location of the tablet through a phone app and said it last showed its location at the Comfort Inn on Sunday. The victim believes the battery is dead and can no longer relay its location.
Police continue their investigation.
