The Indian Lake Development Corporation is calling on community members to join them for a vital tree-planting event aimed at restoring Indian Lake State Park after recent tornado damage.

The event will take place on Friday, October 25, 2024, from 9 AM to Noon at Fox Island.

This initiative, part of the Tornado Recovery Tree Planting project, seeks to enhance the park’s natural landscape and promote biodiversity.

Volunteers of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate, making it a perfect opportunity for families, students, and community groups.

Participants are asked to wear comfortable clothing and sturdy gloves.

It’s also recommended to bring water and snacks to stay energized throughout the event.

The tree planting event is not only an opportunity to give back to the environment but also to earn community service hours for students.

This important initiative is funded by several local organizations, including the Indian Lake Development Corporation (ILDC), the Indian Lake Watershed Project, Grand Lake Saint Marys Lake Improvement, the Indian Lake Chamber of Commerce, and the Bohac Family of Cranberry Resort.

Join in to help make a positive impact on the local environment and help restore the beauty of Indian Lake State Park.
