The Bellefontaine Chieftains season came to an end Thursday night with a 47-40 loss to the Bethel Bees in girls tournament basketball at Troy High School.
The first half was tight as the teams went back-and-forth playing the first two quarters within a 4-point window.
Bellefontaine hit a shot at the end of the second quarter to take a 25-23 lead into halftime.
Bethel stormed out in the third quarter with a 7-0 run to grab the lead at 30-25.
The Chiefs would end the quarter outscoring the Bees 8-5 and trailed 35-33 going to the final frame.
Bellefontaine sputtered in the fourth quarter turning the ball over on three consecutive possessions and not scoring for more than three minutes. Bethel took advantage and pulled away for the victory.
Hailee Lamb and Tiffany Boop led the Chiefs with 11 points each.
Caitlyn Jefferson was game’s leading scorer with 18 for Bethel.
Bellefontaine ends their season with a record of 12-11.
Bethel will face Northridge Tuesday night at Troy High School.
