Several area middle school volleyball teams were in action Wednesday, with Bellefontaine, Jonathan Alder and West Liberty-Salem picking up wins.
7th Grade – Bellefontaine 2, Northwestern 0
The Bellefontaine seventh-grade Chiefs defeated Northwestern in two sets, 25-10 and 25-8.
Bexley Daring led Bellefontaine with nine digs and eight aces. Devyn Hogan added three kills, two digs, one assist and one ace, while Emma Layman finished with one kill, one dig, four assists and three aces.
Miley McKirahan had one kill, one dig and one ace. Addy Harden recorded one kill and one ace, while Brooklyn Mosley added one dig and one ace. Lariah Valencia contributed three digs, and Eliza Blinn had one dig.
8th Grade – Bellefontaine 2, Northwestern 0
Bellefontaine also swept Northwestern in eighth-grade action, winning 25-8 and 25-20.
The victory improves the Chiefs to 7-2 overall this season.
Skylar Phan led Bellefontaine with 14 digs, three kills and three aces. Alivia Rogan recorded five digs, three kills and three aces, while Arianna Rumer had four digs, four kills and four assists.
Evie Schmidt contributed eight assists and one dig. Braelynn Neer finished with three kills, one dig, one assist and one ace, while Charley Frazier added two kills, one dig and two aces.
7th Grade – West Liberty-Salem 2, West Jefferson 1
The West Liberty-Salem seventh-grade Lady Tigers defeated West Jefferson in three sets, 25-19, 20-25 and 25-15.
The Tigers recorded 14 serving aces and 11 kills in the victory. West Liberty-Salem improves to 5-2 overall and 4-1 in OHC play.
8th Grade – West Liberty-Salem 2, West Jefferson 0
The West Liberty-Salem eighth-grade Lady Tigers completed the sweep with a two-set victory over West Jefferson, 25-18 and 25-18.
The Tigers recorded nine kills and 17 aces in the match. West Liberty-Salem is now 4-2 overall and 4-1 in OHC play.
Both West Liberty-Salem teams return to action Thursday at Benjamin Logan.

Jonathan Alder defeated the Benjamin Logan seventh-grade Raiders in two sets, 25-13 and 25-13.
8th Grade – Jonathan Alder 2, Benjamin Logan 0
Jonathan Alder also swept Benjamin Logan in eighth-grade action, winning 25-13 and 25-16.
