Bellefontaine senior Chloe Heminger will continue her bowling career at Wittenberg University after officially signing her letter of intent during a ceremony at T-P Lanes in Bellefontaine.

Heminger was joined by family, teammates, and coaches as she celebrated the next step in her academic and athletic career.

A standout for Bellefontaine, Heminger put together an impressive high school career, earning First-Team CBC honors all four years while helping lead the Lady Chiefs to four straight state tournament appearances. She also surpassed 40,000 career pins during her time with the program.

Heminger said bowling at the college level has been a goal since her freshman year.

“College bowling has been a goal since my freshman year,” Heminger said. “Once I started getting more competitive with other teams during matches and tournaments, the more I kept telling myself I was going to bowl in college.”

She chose Wittenberg because of its campus and academics, and plans to study physical health and education.

“My goals at Wittenberg are to have fun with the team, bowl to the best of my abilities, and help my team succeed,” Heminger added.

Bellefontaine girls bowling coach Jane Kline praised Heminger’s growth and commitment throughout her career.

“Chloe has worked hard to get where she is today,” Kline said. “The last couple of years I pushed her to be better, and she accepted the challenge.”
