The third time was a charm for Bellefontaine Saturday as they beat Shawnee 46-37 in the sectional tournament.
The Chiefs lost the previous two meetings with the Braves this season but used a strong team effort to stifle Shawnee.
The Braves held an early lead of 5-2 before Bellefontaine ended the first quarter 11-0 to grab a 13-5 lead.
The Chiefs would never trail again.
Bellefontaine took a 22-13 lead at halftime and held a 32-26 advantage after three quarters.
The Braves would creep to within 6 points in the fourth quarter, but the Chiefs scored four quick points to push the lead back to 10.
Three Chiefs scored in double figures. Tavien St. Clair had 14, C.J. Wilson 12, and Carter Snapp added 10.
Zion Crowe scored 17 for the Braves.
Bellefontaine will now face Dayton Ponitz Wednesday night at 7:00. Ponitz blasted Bethel Saturday 95-40.

Kenton Ridge 37
Urbana erased a five-point halftime deficit and turned the tables on Kenton Ridge in the Division II Sectional Saturday at Springfield High School.
Kenton Ridge scored the first four points of the third quarter before Urbana clamped down and only allowed 10 points the rest of the game creating a 25-point swing.
The Hillclimbers scored as many points in the third quarter (18) as they did in the first half.
Will Donahoe paced the Urbana attack scoring 25 points including an impressive 11 for 12 at the free-throw line.
Aiden Bradshaw chipped in 11.
Urbana will now play Meadowdale Tuesday night at 7:30.
Meadowdale toppled Graham 73-35
The Lions of Meadowdale roared past Graham thanks to a stifling defense and hot shooting behind the arc.
The Lions only gave up 13 points to the Falcons in the first half and scored 33 of their own to cruise to the victory.
The Lions hit eleven 3-pointers on the afternoon with Sean Caldwell hitting four and scoring a team-high 14 points.
The Falcons were led by Ben Sells who finished with 18.
