The Benjamin Logan Raiders hosted Temple Christian Friday night and lost a close one 46-53.
Maddox Vermillion scored 13 points and Camden Spriggs added 9 points. Collin Powell added 8 points for the team. The JV Raiders won 37-27. Diesel Baughman scored 13 points while Wyatt Predmore added 8 points.
Indian Lake Varsity girls lost at Fort Recovery 50 – 39.
Kennedy Swaderer led the Lady Lakers with 11 points. Courtney Altstaetter, Mackenzie Dixon, and Carly Strayer contributed 6 points, and Alivia Kinney and Rya Pequignot scored 5 points apiece.
The Calvary Varsity Spartans were torched by the Trojans at their first game of the season at the Botkins Meyers Tavern Tipoff Classic. The final score was 67-34.
Daniel Young was one of the highest scorers for the Spartans with 11 points. He also grabbed 4 rebounds and had 2 assists. Zeeke Wylie also scored 11 points and had 1 rebound and 1 assist. Philip Davie and Christian Rogan followed, with both players scoring 6 points apiece. Davie also had 3 assists and 1 rebound and Rogan had 2 assists.
The Riverside Varsity basketball team came out on top in a high-paced, thrilling season opener at the Botkins Tip-Off Tournament, defeating Waynesfield Goshen 77-68. The game, which was tight throughout, showcased stellar individual performances and balanced team play as Riverside pulled away in the final minutes. For the Varsity; Jaxon Woods 23 points, 10 rebounds, four blocks, Gavin Orsborne 19 points 4 steals, Brody Orsborne 17 points 5 assists 7 rebounds, Landon Purtee 14 points 5 rebounds, and Hayden Sanford 4 points 4 assists. The JV won 59-42 in a team effort. Justin Mazariegos 15 points, Camden Shoe 9 points, Hayden McCully and Colton Hurley 8 points each, and
Cooper Crouch 7 points.
