The Indian Lake Varsity Girls basketball team fell to Urbana 37-31 at home. Mackenzie Dixon led the Lakers with 10 points and 7 rebounds. Courtney Altstaetter added 6 points and 6 rebounds, while Kennedy Swaderer scored 6 points, and Rya Pequignot had 5 points. The Indian Lake JV team, however, won 38-16. Terra Beltz led with 19 points and 15 rebounds, while Chloe Bordering contributed 8 points and 8 rebounds, and Haley Metzger had 5 points and 5 assists.
Over at Benjamin Logan, the JV Lady Raiders defeated Tecumseh 39-34. Bonnie Brunson led scoring with 11 points, and Bryleigh Burnside, Aubrey Harris, and Madison Shields all added 9 points each. The Varsity Raiders lost to Tecumseh 60-43. Daylin Varner scored 17 points, Elliott Butler had 7, and Molly Siefring pitched in 6. Both teams will travel to Northwestern on Saturday for a CBC league game, with JV starting at 12:00 PM.
At Triad, the JV Girls team lost to Northeastern 19-16. Taylor Queen led Triad with 8 points, Lilli Fitak added 4 points and 5 rebounds, and Emma Bailey scored 4 points. The Varsity team, however, dominated with a 53-19 win. Mia LeMay posted a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Abbey Overfield added 15 points, 6 steals, and 6 rebounds, while Jazz Ford contributed 7 points and 4 steals. Melissa Graham had 5 points and 6 rebounds. Triad Varsity improves to 2-2 overall and 1-1 in the OHC.
The Lady Chieftains played their first road game last night and came home with a win beating Northwestern 64-47. Leading the Chiefs was Tiffany Boop, with a career-high 28 points and she ripped down 7 rebounds. Rylie Reames scored 11 points (career high) and had 4 assists, Gabbe Hoon scored 10 points (career high) and 5 rebounds, and Quinlan Zedeker added 9 points and 9 assists for the Chiefs. Laila Butler chipped in 4 points and 4 rebounds. Junior Varsity Lady Chiefs also brought home a win beating Northwestern JV 22-11. Emma Whitaker led the Chiefs with 7 points. Varsity is now 2-1. They travel to Tri-Village on Saturday. JV tip is at 1 PM (only playing 2 quarters) and Varsity tip 2 PM.
