Lady Pirates Dominate Covington

The Lady Pirates delivered a commanding performance at Cherokee Hills on Thursday, defeating Covington with a final score of 216-271. Reaghan McDaniel led her team as the medalist with a stellar score of 41. Zoie Armbruster followed with a 55, Kenna Johnson shot 57, and Kirstyn Carpenter added a 63. Lei Hurley and Adalynn Calaway both contributed with scores of 70.

Riverside Boys Face Setback at Shelby Oaks

The Riverside boys golf team fell to Sidney Lehman at Shelby Oaks Golf Course with a score of 163-201. Key performances for Riverside included Jaxon Woods with a 41, Hayden McCully with 48, Syler Clark with 55, and Daniel Esh with 57. In another close match, the Tigers lost to Mechanicsburg in OHC play with a narrow score of 174-165. Luke Thomas delivered a career-best performance with a score of 38. The Tigers, now 7-7 for the season, will look to rebound when they host Fairbanks next Tuesday at Liberty Hills.

Lady Chieftains Struggle Against Jonathan Alder

The Lady Chieftain golf team faced a tough challenge against Jonathan Alder, falling with a score of 208-230. Despite the loss, Kate Myers had a standout performance, earning medalist honors with a score of 48. Her teammates also put in strong performances: Gillian Steele shot 59, Ella Fultz 61, Elliett Lang 62, Olivia Dearwester 64, and Thessaly Reminder 68. The Lady Chieftains will have an opportunity to turn things around this Saturday as they host the First Annual Ladies Chieftain Invitational at their home course, Liberty Hills, starting at 11:00 AM. With favorable weather expected, it’s a great chance for fans to support the team and enjoy a day of golf.

Riverdale Edges Calvary at Cherokee Hills

On Thursday night, Cherokee Hills saw Riverdale narrowly defeat Calvary with a score of 202-210. Seth Jauzemis was the standout performer, earning medalist honors with a score of 49. He was followed by Brant Zell with a 52, Jace Harpst with a 53, Leland Henry with a 56, and both Levi Hanson and Colton Smith each shooting 58.

Benjamin Logan Raiders Boys Golf Team

The Benjamin Logan Raiders Boys Golf team played in two Mad River Division matches this past week. On Tuesday, the Raiders hosted North Union at Liberty Hills but fell short with a score of 161-193. Caleb Knight stood out as a co-medalist, shooting a 39 and scoring 7.5 points. Justin Elliot also performed well with a 44, scoring 3 points. The rest of the team included Ivan King with a 54, Matthew Cox at 56, Drake Newland with a 57, and Utah Coleman shooting a 64.

On Thursday, the Raiders bounced back with a win against Graham at Liberty Hills, finishing with a score of 188-202. Co-medalists for the match were Justin Elliot and Caleb Knight, both shooting a 40 and scoring 7.5 points each. Ivan King added a solid 52, scoring 3.5 points, while Drake Newland shot a 56, scoring 1 point. Matthew Cox and Utah Coleman rounded out the scoring with 66 and 69, respectively. The Raiders will next compete in the David Christoff Invitational at Reid Park in Springfield on Saturday, September 7.
