In a day of competitive golf on Tuesday, local teams showcased their skills with several standout performances.
Graham Lady Falcons continued their impressive season with a solid victory over Benjamin Logan at Lakeland. The Lady Falcons finished with a team score of 185, outpacing Benjamin Logan, who scored 247. Senior Zoey Merritt led the charge with a remarkable score of 36. Other notable performances included Riley Donnelly with a 46, Kailey Dowty with a 50, and Junior Grace Bowers with a 53. Freshman Bayla Moffit posted a 60, and Senior MacKenzie Clark completed the round with a 56. The Falcons also saw contributions from Elayna Little (65), Junior Hailey Langford (63), and Cadence Woods (69).
Lady Pirates achieved a win in their TRC match against Covington, finishing with a score of 216 to Covington’s 242. Reaghan McDaniel was the match medalist with a score of 41. Kenna Johnson shot a 56, Zoie Armbruster posted a 57, and Kirstyn Carpenter had a 62. Lei Hurley and Adalynn Calaway rounded out the scores with 64 and 66, respectively.
Triad Girls Golf secured a victory over Madison Plains with a score of 232 to 264. Chloe Honchell led the team with a score of 48, earning medalist honors. Ashtyn Millice shot a 56, Kame Dingledine posted a 57, and Sophie Rogers finished with a 71. Triad, now 2-4 in the OHC, will face Northeastern at National Golf Links on Thursday.
Riverside Boys had a standout individual performance despite a loss to Covington at Echo Hills, with the final score being 165-176. Jaxon Woods achieved his career-best round with a score of 32, four under par, and earned match medalist honors. Hayden McCully also had his best round of the year with a 40. Daniel Esh and Syler Clark finished with scores of 51 and 53, respectively. The team will compete against Milton Union at Homestead GC on Thursday.
West Liberty-Salem Tigers triumphed over Southeastern with a score of 187-193 in OHC play. The team battled challenging conditions and heat but emerged victorious. The Tigers, now 5-4 for the season, will travel to Triad for their next match on Tuesday.
