ILMS cross country teams both place as runners-up at Bethel 2-Mile Classic

Indian Lake Middle School’s cross country teams continued their strong start to the 2026 season Tuesday at the Bethel 2-Mile Classic, with both the girls and boys teams finishing as runners-up.

Middle School Girls

The Indian Lake Middle School girls cross country team earned a runner-up finish at the Bethel 2-Mile Classic.

The Lakers focused on strong pack racing with another meet coming up the following day, and the strategy helped Indian Lake finish second as a team.

Serenity Albert led the Lakers, placing seventh with a personal-best time of 18:03.

Taylor Alltop finished eighth in 18:44, followed by Aubrey Hoffman in ninth with a PR of 19:14. Makenna Gibbons placed 10th with a PR of 19:38.

Raelyn Hoge finished 13th with a season-best time of 20:54, while Kaylyn Warren placed 14th with a personal-best time of 20:56.

Middle School Boys

The Indian Lake Middle School boys also finished as runners-up at the Bethel 2-Mile Classic.

Hayden Thompson led the Lakers with a sixth-place finish in 14:46, followed by Isaac King in seventh at 15:03.

Owen Flory placed 11th with a personal-best time of 17:52, while Carter Flory finished 12th with a PR of 18:04.

Kole Gilliam competed in his first race of the season and placed 13th in 18:15. Lincoln Halterman finished 14th in 18:34, while Lincoln Nielsen was 16th in 18:38.

Gunner Rogers also competed in his first race of the season, finishing 19th in 27:07.

The Lakers will return to competition Wednesday, September 9, at the Logan County Meet in Bellefontaine.
