The Indian Lake Varsity Volleyball Team kicked off their tournament with a dominant victory over Dayton Northridge, winning decisively with scores of 25-6, 25-7, and 25-6.
Halle Roby led the Lakers, serving 20/21 with 10 aces, along with 5 kills, 3 digs, and 12 assists.
Kenzie Dixon added 8 kills and 5 digs, while Addyson Roby served 13/15 with 4 aces and contributed 5 digs and 13 assists.
Cami Bailey was perfect in hitting with 6 kills on 8 attempts, and Alivia Kinney went 10/10 hitting with 5 kills.
With this win, Indian Lake improves to 20-3 overall and will face Thurgood Marshall on Thursday at Troy High School at 6:00 PM.
In another exciting matchup, the Bellefontaine Chieftains secured a strong victory against Graham at Centerville High School to kick off the 2024 District tournament, winning in straight sets: 25-8, 25-5, and 25-13.
Reagan Standley shone for the Chieftains, going 20/20 in serves.
Kelsie Snapp contributed significantly with 9 kills, 4 aces, and 8 digs, while Madi Zedeker had an impressive 28 assists, served 13/13 with 5 aces, and recorded 4 digs.
Taylor Banta and Ava Layman each added 8 kills, with Banta also contributing 2 solo blocks and 8 digs.
Ava Campbell added 3 kills, a solo block, and was 6/7 serving.
The Chieftains return to action in the District Semi-Finals on Tuesday at Centerville High School at 5:30 PM, where they will face the Hillclimbers from Urbana.
