Indian Lake 6, Graham 3
Indian Lake used a huge six-run second inning to defeat Graham 6-3.
All nine runs came in just two half-innings, with the Lakers scoring all six of theirs in the second. After the first two batters reached on a walk and a hit-by-pitch, Jackson Snipes opened the scoring with an RBI single. Lane Kipker later drew a bases-loaded walk setup before Mack Jarvis and Nixon Lillard delivered back-to-back RBI singles. Brady Golliday followed with a two-RBI single, and Aaron Rapp capped the inning with an RBI single for a 6-0 lead.
Graham answered in the fourth after loading the bases with two walks and a single. Jack Traylor scored on a passed ball, Kingston McWilliams came home on an error, and Carson Powell added an RBI groundout to cut the deficit to 6-3.
That was all Graham could manage, as Lane Kipker dominated in relief. He did not allow a baserunner over the final three innings, finishing with 3.1 innings of one-hit relief and two strikeouts.
Snipes and Rapp each had two hits for Indian Lake, while Golliday led with two RBIs.
For Graham, Powell, JP Morris, Levi Hollingsworth, and Nathan Crisler each collected a hit, with Powell recording the lone RBI.
Indian Lake improves to 8-8 and will travel to Bellefontaine on Friday, while Graham falls to 3-14 and heads to Kenton Ridge.
Mechanicsburg 4, Yellow Springs 2
Mechanicsburg stayed unbeaten with a 4-2 win over Yellow Springs.
Colt Salyers was outstanding for the Indians, tossing five scoreless innings while allowing just two hits and one walk with six strikeouts.
Mechanicsburg struck early in the first when Crew Lafary reached on a bloop single before Connor Eyink drove him in with a hit to center. Eyink later raced home on an errant relay throw for a quick 2-0 lead.
Eyink added more in the third, crushing a leadoff solo homer to left to make it 3-0. The Indians pushed the lead to 4-0 in the fifth on Hank Huffman’s sacrifice fly that scored Lafary.
Yellow Springs made a late push in the seventh, loading the bases and scoring twice on a hit-by-pitch and walk, but Matthew Davis entered and struck out the final two batters to end it.
Eyink finished 2-for-2 with a double, a homer, two RBIs, and two runs scored. Lafary added two hits and scored twice, while Huffman chipped in an RBI.
Mechanicsburg improves to 14-0 and will travel to Greeneview on Friday.
Benjamin Logan 12, Northwestern 1 (5 innings)
Benjamin Logan rolled past Northwestern 12-1 in five innings behind a dominant all-around performance from Adam Tinsman.
Tinsman threw a complete-game, shortened outing, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out eight. Northwestern’s lone run came in the first on a triple and a sacrifice fly.
He also starred at the plate, going 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored.
The Raiders struck quickly in the first, with Tinsman driving in Xavier Allen on an RBI single. Cayden Brown later scored on a passed ball, and Tinsman came home on an RBI groundout to make it 3-1.
Benjamin Logan added two more in the second on Brown’s RBI double and a wild pitch, then pushed the lead to 7-1 in the fourth behind RBIs from Micah Gregg and Bode Clapsaddle.
The Raiders put the run rule in effect with five runs in the fifth. Carter Fay’s fielder’s choice plated two runs, Tinsman added a two-RBI double, and the final run scored on a dropped fly ball.
Along with Tinsman, Gregg had two hits and three RBIs, Clapsaddle collected two hits, and Brown also finished 3-for-3.
Benjamin Logan improves to 11-5 with six straight wins and will visit Urbana on Friday.
West Liberty-Salem 10, Northeastern 8
West Liberty-Salem stormed back from a seven-run deficit to defeat Northeastern 10-8.
After stranding the bases loaded in the first, the Tigers watched Northeastern score seven runs in the second using just three hits while capitalizing on walks, a hit-by-pitch, and productive outs.
West Liberty-Salem got on the board in the second with an RBI single from Isaac Sertell before roaring back in the fourth. An error on Braden Hershberger’s grounder started the rally, then Jeremiah Johnson ripped a two-run double, Josiah Johnson followed with an RBI single, and Beckett Sullivan added another to trim the deficit to 7-6.
The Tigers tied it in the fifth when Timmy Howells scored on a wild pitch, then took the lead on Reese Oder’s sacrifice fly. Jeremiah Johnson later added another RBI single for insurance.
Northeastern got one back in the sixth, but Hershberger answered with an RBI double to keep the lead at two.
Jeremiah Johnson, Josiah Johnson, and Beckett Sullivan each had two hits, with Jeremiah driving in three runs.
West Liberty-Salem improves to 9-7 and will play Catholic Central on Friday.
Troy Christian 5, Riverside 0
Riverside couldn’t generate enough offense in a 5-0 loss to Troy Christian.
The Eagles scored all five runs in the fourth inning, using a leadoff walk, four hits, an RBI groundout, and a Riverside error.
The inning spoiled another strong outing from Cooper Crouch, who threw a complete game while allowing just two earned runs and striking out six over 126 pitches.
Offensively, Riverside never had more than one baserunner in an inning and managed just one runner to reach third.
Troy Christian pitcher Logan Cool was sharp, allowing five hits and striking out 10 Pirates, including striking out the side in the fifth.
Crouch led Riverside with two hits, while Syler Clark, Camden Shoe, and Hayden McCully each added one.
Riverside falls to 13-5 and will host Lehman Catholic on Friday.
