Middle School Cross Country Results & Fun Run

The Indian Lake Middle School Cross Country teams had a strong showing at the Indian Lake Invitational on Saturday, with both girls’ and boys’ teams competing fiercely.

In the Girls’ 2-mile race, Bellefontaine narrowly clinched victory with 46 points, just ahead of Indian Lake, who finished with 48 points.

Indian Lake’s Abby Bihn took first place with a time of 13:34, while Laura Metzger followed closely in second at 13:53.

Both girls earned medals for their top-three finishes.

Other notable performances included Caroline Jones, who placed 8th with a personal record of 15:09, and Allison Overmyer, who secured 11th place with a season-best time of 15:26.

For the Boys’ race, New Bremen dominated, finishing with just 16 points.

Indian Lake placed third with 82 points, led by Hayden Kuhkle, who earned a top-15 ribbon with his 10th-place finish (13:24).

Nathan White finished 16th (14:08), with several other runners contributing to the team’s effort.

Additionally, the Indian Lake Running Club had participants in the 1-mile fun run, where Camden Vollrath from Bellefontaine won in a time of 6:13, and Kylie Lowe came in second at 6:43.

Benjamin Logan’s Middle School teams also competed at the invitational.

The girls’ team finished 4th out of 6 schools, led by Paislee Rodenberger, who placed 6th with a time of 14:42.

In the boys’ race, the team finished 4th as well, with Quinn Kuba leading the pack at 22nd (14:43).

In the Youth Run, three sixth graders from Benjamin Logan Middle School dominated, with Camden Vollrath winning the race in 6:12, Kylie Lowe finishing second at 6:43, and Baya Deal taking third with a time of 6:52.

The BMS Boys Cross Country team excelled at the Jean Newmeyer Invitational, with Andrew Myers finishing first in 12:16, followed by Sennett Stolly and Jackson Maus, who placed 3rd and 4th, respectively.

Although the team was down a runner, their individual performances stood out.

The BMS Girls Cross Country team won the Jean Newmeyer Invitational, finishing first out of six teams.

Chloe O’Chocke led the charge in 5th place, with Leila Hammond, Blakely Vollrath, and Cameo Greene also finishing in the top ten.

Both Indian Lake and Benjamin Logan teams will next compete at the Anna Rocket Invitational on Saturday, October 3rd.
