The West Liberty-Salem Big Orange Middle School cross country teams competed Saturday at the Ohio Heritage Conference Championships hosted at Cedarville.

The boys were campions.

The Indian Lake Middle School girls finished their last (and best) race of the season at the CBC meet in Bellefontaine on Saturday.

Allison Overmyer and Laura Metzger both finished in the top 14 places, earning them each a medal.
Allison Overmyer finished in 11th place with a PR time of 13:57.50.

Laura Metzger was close behind, finishing in 12th place with a PR time of 14:05.97.

Karlee Taylor also earned a new PR, finishing in 56th place with a time of 17:14.85.

Emma Taylor had a strong race, finishing in 59th place with a time of 18:17.66.

The Benjamin Logan Middle School Cross Country teams finished the season Saturday as they competed in the CBC Championship meet.

The girl’s team placed first in the Mad River division.

Gwen Smith led the Raiders in a field of 65 runners, earning first-team honors and 14th place, with a time of 14:07.

She was followed by Lottie Bowdin 16th in14:19, Cielo Wilcox 32nd, Mallory Chapman 41st, Mia Ortiz, 42nd, Illy Vermillion 43rd, and Montana Coleman 54th.

In the boy’s race of 62 runners, Greyson Butler led the team with a personal record of 13:36 and 25th place.

He was followed by Michael Berry, 32nd, 13:59, Logan Watkins, 46th, Miles Grandbois, 50th, and Ezra Ramsey 51st.


The Bellefontaine Middle School Boys XC team turned in their best race of the season to win the CBC Championships on Saturday.

Bellefontaine placed 1st with 40 points in a close victory over Jonathan Alder who was 2nd with 43 points.

Bellefontaine placed their entire top 5 on 1st team All-CBC.

Jack Wilson finished 3rd, Landon Rister (5th), Caleb Sechrest (9th), Grady Feasel (10th), and Andrew Myers (13th).

Personal best times were run by Feasel, Myers, and Brayten Swisher.

The girl’s XC team fought hard Saturday and brought home 2nd place at the CBC Championships in what was a very close team race up front.

Jonathan Alder finished in 1st with 62 points and the Chiefs were 2nd with 72 points.

1st team All-CBC honors went to Chloe O’Chocke (6th), Sloan Stolly (9th), and Leila Hammond (13th).

Personal best times were run by O’Chocke (13:48), Hammond (14:06), Lexi Lamb (15:01), and Blakely Vollrath (15:15).
