West Liberty-Salem Middle School (WLSMS), Indian Lake Middle School (ILMS), and Bellefontaine Middle School (BMS) delivered impressive performances at their respective cross-country meets over the weekend.
At the Coldwater Lion’s Invitational, the WLSMS boys’ team emerged victorious, securing first place with a score of 75, narrowly beating Van Wert, which finished with 86 points. Aydan Knox led the team with a strong performance, finishing 4th overall with a time of 11:10. The girls’ team also showcased their talent, finishing 6th in a highly competitive field. Elin Leichty was the standout for the girls, placing 26th with a time of 13:26.
Meanwhile, at the Anna Invitational, the ILMS girls’ team finished 8th overall, with Laura Metzger earning a medal for her personal record time of 13:40. Abby Bihn and Allison Overmeyer also contributed to the team’s success. On the boys’ side, Hayden Kuhke finished 66th with a time of 13:27. The Lakers will compete next Saturday at Graham in the CBC Championships.
BMS had a stellar showing at the same event, particularly among their 6th graders. Camden Vollrath claimed 2nd place among 110 runners with a personal record of 6:05, followed closely by Kylie Lowe and Baya Deal, who finished 7th and 9th, respectively. The BMS girls’ team finished 6th out of 21 teams, led by Cameo Greene, who earned a top 15 medal with a personal record time of 13:50. The boys’ team also excelled, with all runners achieving personal bests, highlighted by Andrew Myers, who finished 9th.
