Raiders and Riverside Boys Golf Teams Swing at Championships

The Raiders and Riverside Boys Golf teams wrapped up their seasons at the recent league championships held at The Elks Golf Course and Sugar Isle Golf Course, respectively.

On Friday, the Raiders competed in the CBC Championships, finishing 5th out of 6 teams in the Mad River Division with a total score of 408. Leading the Raiders was Caleb Knight, who shot a commendable 92, earning him a spot on the 2nd Team All-League. Justin Elliot followed closely with a 96, while Ivan King, Matthew Cox, Utah Coleman, and Drake Newland scored 108, 112, 124, and 124, respectively. Notably, Ivan King was awarded the Sportsmanship Award, representing Benjamin Logan.

The Raiders are set to conclude their season with a match against Bellefontaine at Liberty Hills on Monday, September 23.

Meanwhile, the Riverside Boys Golf team concluded their season at the TRC league tournament, finishing 7th overall at Sugar Isle Golf Course. Jaxon Woods had an impressive performance, finishing 8th individually with a score of 83. Hayden McCully shot a 96, Daniel Esh a 104, and Syler Clark a 126. Jaxon’s consistent play throughout the regular season and the league tournament earned him the Player of the Year title for the TRC, while Hayden McCully received Honorable Mention honors.

Both teams showcased resilience and talent throughout their seasons, marking a strong conclusion to their competitive efforts.
