Exciting volleyball action unfolded across the area Tuesday evening as several local teams faced off in competitive matches.
Benjamin Logan struggled against London High School, losing in straight sets (22-25, 17-25, 19-25). Kayla Williams was a bright spot for the team, contributing 13 kills.
Riverside Pirates dominated their match against the Polar Bears, winning 25-10, 25-10, and 25-9. Avery Perk shone with 9 kills and 11 assists, while the JV team also secured a win against Northridge.
Indian Lake Lakers suffered a tough loss against Kenton Ridge, with scores of 15-25, 23-25, and 22-25. Key performances came from Courtney Altstaetter, who recorded 11 kills and 4 blocks, and Cami Bailey, who was perfect on serving at 13/13. Riley Ross contributed defensively with 12 digs, while Halle Roby provided 13 assists. The Lakers now hold a record of 13-3 and 3-1 in the CBC, with their next match against Springfield Shawnee on Wednesday.
In the junior varsity match, the Lakers fell short against Kenton Ridge, with scores of 22-25, 25-22, and 22-25. Ady Oldiges and Kit Miller were standouts, with Oldiges achieving 12 assists and Miller notching 10 kills.
Bellefontaine Chiefs hosted North Union, securing a decisive victory in straight sets: 25-13, 25-21, 25-12. Madi Zedeker led the offense with 37 assists, while Kelsie Snapp made a significant impact with 20 kills. Ava Campbell and Taylor Banta each added 9 kills, helping the Chiefs improve to 12-3 on the season.
The junior varsity teams also had mixed results. The JV Red team triumphed in a thrilling three-set match, while JV Black faced a defeat in two sets.
West Liberty-Salem Tigers traveled to Southeastern, where they emerged victorious after a hard-fought five-set match: 15-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, and 15-4. Standout performances included Londyn Loveless with 19 assists and Naomi Cole, who tallied 16 kills.
