Urbana 14, Hilliard Darby 1 (5 innings)

Urbana extended its winning streak to 13 games in dominant fashion, rolling past Division I opponent Hilliard Darby 14-1 in five innings.

Kevin Endres was outstanding on the mound, tossing a complete game while allowing just one run on two hits with eight strikeouts. The only Darby run came in the third on an RBI groundout.

Endres also got the offense started early. After Carter Houseman singled and Brody Donahoe was hit by a pitch, Endres blasted a three-run homer to deep right in the first inning for a quick 3-0 lead.

The Hillclimbers broke it open with a six-run second. Donahoe drove in one with a single before Grady Lantz ripped a two-run triple. Lantz later scored on a wild pitch, and Larkin Moore added a two-run single to push the lead to 9-0.

Urbana added five more in the third, highlighted by RBI doubles from Lantz and Endres. Jackson Stacy chipped in an RBI groundout before back-to-back RBI singles from Houseman and Carson McCulla finished off the 14-1 win.

Endres finished 2-for-3 with a homer, double, and four RBIs, while Lantz collected a double, triple, and three RBIs.

Urbana improves to 18-5 and will next face Division I powerhouse Olentangy Liberty.

North Union 4, Bellefontaine 3

Bellefontaine dropped a tight CBC matchup to North Union, falling 4-3 after a late Wildcat rally.

North Union struck first in the second inning, scoring on an RBI groundout after an error and single put runners in scoring position. The Wildcats added another in the fourth on an RBI single after a leadoff hit and walk made it 2-0.

Bellefontaine finally broke through in the sixth. Patrick Stolly was hit by a pitch, Lincoln Banta singled, and Cayleb Overmann delivered a two-out, two-run double to center to tie the game at 2-2.

North Union answered immediately in the bottom half. The first two runners reached, and after a sacrifice bunt, the Wildcats scored on a play at the plate before adding another insurance run on a two-out RBI single for a 4-2 lead.

The Chiefs threatened in the seventh. Aiden Smith singled, Stolly reached on an error, and Sutton Daring singled home Smith to cut it to 4-3. Daring then stole second to put the go-ahead run in scoring position, but the rally ended on a groundout back to the pitcher.

Overmann drove in two runs for Bellefontaine, while Daring had the team’s only multi-hit game.

Bellefontaine falls to 9-14 and will host River Valley on Friday.

Miami East 3, Riverside 2

Riverside came up just short in a tight TRC battle, falling 3-2 to Miami East.

Miami East opened the scoring in the first after a pickoff error allowed a run to cross. Riverside answered in the second, loading the bases before David Gross grounded out to score one, and a throwing error allowed a second run to score, giving the Pirates a 2-1 lead.

The Vikings quickly reclaimed the lead in the third with an RBI double and RBI single to go up 3-2.

From there, pitching dominated. Brody Orsborne settled in nicely for Riverside, finishing six innings while allowing just one earned run on six hits with six strikeouts. However, the Pirates’ offense managed only two baserunners the rest of the way.

Orsborne and Cooper Crouch recorded Riverside’s only hits, while Gross drove in the lone RBI.

Northmont 15, Graham 4 (5 innings)

The Falcons struck first in the opening inning. Levi Hollingsworth walked, Carson Powell singled, and after back-to-back singles, Kingston McWilliams lined a two-run double to right for a 2-0 lead.

Northmont responded with a six-run second inning, capitalizing on miscues and timely hitting to take control. A passed ball and errors helped fuel the rally before additional hits pushed the Thunderbolts ahead 6-2.

The Thunderbolts kept rolling in the third, scoring seven more runs behind a two-run single, sac fly, two-run double, and a pair of bases-loaded walks to extend the lead to 13-2.

Graham briefly got out of run-rule range in the fourth when JP Morris drove in one on an infield single and Brody Jenkins added a sacrifice fly to make it 13-4. Northmont answered with two more in the bottom half to close the scoring.

McWilliams led Graham with two RBIs, while Jenkins added another. The Falcons had six hits from six different players.
