American Honda reports strong September sales

American Honda is reporting strong sales for September, with total sales up nearly 16 percent compared with the same month last year.

American Honda sold nearly 122,000 vehicles in September, bringing its total for the first nine months of the year to more than 1.14 million vehicles — up 4.7 percent from the same period last year.

Honda brand sales were up 17.1 percent in September, with more than 111,000 vehicles sold.

The Honda CR-V had a record September and third quarter, with sales up nearly 22 percent in September. Hybrid models accounted for 53 percent of CR-V sales.

Honda hybrid sales also reached a new third-quarter record, with more than 106,000 hybrids sold.

Honda passenger car sales were up 18.4 percent in September, while sales of light trucks increased 16.5 percent.

The Acura brand also posted gains, with September sales up 4.4 percent and third-quarter sales up 9.9 percent.

Acura SUV sales increased nearly 18 percent in the third quarter, marking the brand’s best third quarter for SUVs since 2023.
