The Bellefontaine City Council met in an uneventful meeting on Tuesday evening.
The Council heard the following Ordinances and took action:
Ordinances for 1st reading:
- R23-54 a. A resolution authorizing the mayor and/or service-safety director to prepare and submit an application to participate in the Ohio Public Works Commission State Capital Improvement and/or Local Transportation Improvement Program(s) and to execute contracts as required. *Adopted*
- 23-55 b. An ordinance making supplemental appropriations and amending the permanent appropriations ordinance for purposes of weeds and lots downtown improvements and declaring an emergency. *1st & final, adopted*
- 23-56 c. An ordinance making supplemental appropriations and amending the permanent appropriations ordinance for purposes of state audit expenses auditor and capital equipment – police and declaring an emergency. *Passed on 1st only*
- 23-57 d. An ordinance authorizing and creating a fourth Assistant Fire Chief position in the Bellefontaine Fire Department. *Passed on 1st only*
- 23-58 e. An ordinance authorizing the service-safety director to advertise for bids and enter into contract for the sidewalk project in the City of Bellefontaine and declaring an emergency. *1st & final, adopted*
- 23-59 f. An ordinance amending Chapter 1313 Flood Damage Prevention of the codified ordinances of the City of Bellefontaine and declaring an emergency. *Passed on 1st only*
Ordinances for 2nd reading:
- 23-48 a. An ordinance making supplemental appropriations and amending the permanent appropriations ordinance for purposes of incidentals revolving loan-housing and declaring an emergency. *2nd & final, adopted*
- 23-53 b. An ordinance accepting the application for annexation of certain territory/real estate to the City of Bellefontaine, Ohio, containing 15.058 acres, owned by Tod Johnson et al, located in Lake Township adjacent to the City of Bellefontaine, Ohio, establishing zoning classification therefore, amending the zoning map and declaring an emergency. *Passed on 2nd only*
Service Safety Director, Wes Dodds, informed the council that over the last several days the Water Department has been working tirelessly on several water main issues.
Bellefontaine Police Chief, Chris Marlow, updated the council that two new officers have been hired from the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. The new officers will be sworn in at the next council meeting on Tuesday, September 26th at 7:30 PM.
