Bellefontaine Mayor Praises Downtown Organization

The Bellefontaine City Council met in regular session Tuesday Night.

During his report, Mayor Dave Crissman praised the work of the Downtown Bellefontaine Partnership.

He thanked the organization for their continued efforts to bring attention to the downtown area with several events.

The annual Taste of Bellefontaine is just a little more than a week away and the 21st Annual Hot Summer Nights Cruise-In will happen August 10th – and don’t forget the farmers market every Saturday.

Councilwoman MacKenzie Myers Fitzpatrick spoke to the council:

The council went on to take the following actions:

Ordinances for 1st reading

  • A resolution establishing a new revenue account within the Park Fund- Adopted by a 100% vote
  • An ordinance making supplemental appropriations and amending the permanent appropriations ordinance for purposes of the Mayor Department, General Administration, Fire Department, Ambulance Department, Park Department, Police Department, Concessions and Pool Department, and Water Department and declaring an emergency. Passed by a 100% vote, first reading ONLY
  • An ordinance authorizing the Service-Safety Director to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for the 2024 street painting & striping project and declaring an emergency in the City of Bellefontaine, Ohio- Passed on first and final reading by a 100% vote, Adopted
  • An ordinance authorizing the Service-Safety Director to advertise for bids and enter into a contract for the City of Bellefontaine cooperative curb and sidewalk project and declaring an emergency- Passed by a 100% vote, first reading ONLY
  • An ordinance authorizing the Service-Safety Director to dispose of a 1995 Smeal ladder truck by donation to Ohio Hi-Point Careers Center and declaring an emergency- Passed on first and final reading by a 100% vote, Adopted

  • An ordinance authorizing the Service-Safety Director to seek proposals/advertise for bids and enter into a contract for the Richard Avenue waterline improvements, Project 2024-02w, and declaring an emergency- Passed on second and final reading by a 100% vote, Adopted
