Benjamin Logan Local Schools is proud to recognize 20 students who have earned the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy, an honor that recognizes students who demonstrate high levels of proficiency in English and at least one other language.

To earn the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy, graduating seniors must meet state-established requirements, including earning a score of proficient or higher on an approved English Language assessment and earning a score of Intermediate High or higher on an approved World Language Assessment within 15 months before graduation.

Receiving the Seal of Biliteracy provides meaningful academic, professional, and social benefits for students.

The recognition encourages students to pursue fluency in another language, helps colleges and universities identify bilingual students, supports language diversity, strengthens community relationships, and may help boost job opportunities in many fields.

It also acknowledges and reinforces the value of English learners’ home languages and cultures.
