A four-vehicle accident happened Tuesday afternoon on Township Road 179, according to the Bellefontaine Police Department.
A chain reaction of rear-end collisions took place when a 2018 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Tessla Woodlum, 20, of Bellefontaine, stopped on the roadway for a vehicle backing a trailer into a driveway.
A 1987 Jeep Cherokee driven by Angel Shook, 18, of St. Paris, was stopped behind Woodlum.
A 2005 Ford F-250 driven by Naaman Stidham, 17, of West Liberty, was stopped behind Shook.
When a 1995 Dodge Ram driven by Hunter Cramer, 18, of West Liberty, crested the hill and was unable to stop in time, he struck the rear of Stidham’s vehicle.
This impact caused Stidham to strike Shook, which in turn struck Woodlum.
Shook was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital by Tri-Valley EMS for suspected minor injuries.
The truck and Jeep were towed from the scene.
Cramer was cited for assured clear distance ahead.
