The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office has promoted two deputies to the rank of sergeant.
The following information is from a Facebook post issued by the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office:
“On July 24, 2026, Sheriff Chad M. Burroughs proudly promoted Deputy Chris Culler and Deputy Zac Prickett to the rank of Sergeant with the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
These promotions reflect Sheriff Burroughs’ confidence in both deputies’ proven leadership abilities, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the citizens of Champaign County. Throughout their careers, Sergeant Culler and Sergeant Prickett have consistently demonstrated sound judgment, integrity and the ability to lead by example. They have earned the respect of their peers through their work ethic, dedication to the Office and willingness to mentor and develop fellow deputies.
As sergeants, they will supervise personnel, provide leadership during critical incidents, ensure accountability, foster teamwork and help maintain the high professional standards of the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office.
Sheriff Burroughs said the promotions recognize not only their past accomplishments but also his confidence in their ability to lead the next generation of deputies while continuing to provide exceptional service to the community.
The Champaign County Sheriff’s Office congratulated Sergeant Chris Culler and Sergeant Zac Prickett and wished them continued success in their new leadership roles.”
