Logan County’s signature volunteer event returned Friday for its 11th year, bringing more than 450 volunteers together to give back to the community.

United Way of Logan County hosted Community Care Day, bringing together volunteers from area workplaces, churches, and civic organizations.

The day kicked off at 8 a.m. at Bellefontaine Grace Church before volunteers headed to hands-on projects throughout Logan County.

Projects included baking, building, planting, painting, and cleanup, with opportunities for volunteers of all skill levels and interests.

The work was completed at local social service agencies and area parks, helping organizations and improving public spaces across the county.

United Way officials also highlighted several other initiatives making an impact in Logan County.

The Lunch Buddies program added 46 additional students this year, while Student United Way is celebrating its 30th year.

The annual Stuff the Bus campaign also had a record-breaking year, with 30 collection sites and enough donations to fill a box truck twice.

Organizers say the campaign surpassed previous records for both donated items and monetary contributions.

United Way is also continuing its Better Together Logan County initiative, formerly known as the Harwood initiative.

The effort focuses on breaking down silos, building stronger relationships, and creating a better community.

Organizers say the goal is to actively grow Logan County’s culture of generosity.

The 2026 campaign is being led by an Agency Round Table made up of representatives from the Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities, Universal Home Health and Otterbein Hospice, Warm Clothes for Kids, Peak of Hope Homeless Shelter, Life Care Alliance, Helpline 211, Bridges Community Action, Logan County Family and Children First Council, and Second Harvest Food Bank.

Groups headed out into the community to work on projects just after 9 AM on Friday morning.
