The Bellefontaine Police Department will host its annual Community Safety Event Saturday at Southview Park in Bellefontaine. The event starts at 3 PM and will wrap up at 6 PM.
K9 teams from the region will be on-site and provide demos. Regional law enforcement will bring vehicles, equipment, and more for families to explore. You can expect many helicopters, motorcycles, emergency vehicles, games, music, and fun.
To top it off, the Bellefontaine Police will host their K9 fundraiser chicken BBQ. Each dinner is prepaid, however, there will be a limited number available at the event. Nelson’s Catering offers 1/2 a chicken, two sides, and a roll for $15. This major fundraiser funds the department with many needed expenses associated with K9 Boodik. Last year more than $8,000 was raised. For three consecutive years, The Women of the Modern Woodman organization has matched donations, of up to $5,000. Dinners must be picked up by 5 PM if you have a pre-purchased ticket. Dinners not retrieved by that time will be sold to attendees.
