Friday, DeGraff Police Department’s Chief Terry Brentlinger and K9 Ice completed their Ohio Police Officer Training Academy and National Association of Professional Canine Handlers certifications.

K9 Ice is a male, was born on December 7th, 2022, and is a locally-born canine.

Chief Brentlinger and K9 Ice completed six weeks of K9 Training.

As a result of the training, K9 Ice became certified in narcotics (Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Crack Cocaine, and Heroin), tracking, article searches, area search, building search, suspect apprehension, and obedience.

K9 Ice came to the department thanks to two separate grants, The Squirrel Linet Grant and the AKC-Reunite Grant, costing the village very little.
