Stolen Vehicle crashes after driver flees North Lewisburg police

A stolen vehicle crashed early Friday morning after the driver fled from a North Lewisburg police officer, according to the North Lewisburg Police Department.

At approximately 2:12 a.m. on September 18, Officer Rhodes observed what he believed to be a disabled vehicle in the 700 block of Mill Street.

After checking the vehicle’s registration, the operator reportedly fled eastbound at a high rate of speed. The vehicle crashed near the intersection of Maple and West streets.

The vehicle was later determined to have been stolen from Logan County, according to police.

The driver then fled the crash scene on foot and entered multiple properties before being apprehended.

North Lewisburg police said no further details will be released at this time.
