Early Saturday morning, Bellefontaine Police Officers were dispatched to Mary Rutan Hospital following a report of domestic violence involving Dana Campbell.

Upon arrival, Dana, visibly distressed and covering her face, explained that she had been attacked by her estranged partner, Joshua Campbell, at their residence. Dana detailed that they had a protection order in place which required Joshua to sleep in a camper located in the backyard while she remained in the house. Despite this, Dana claimed Joshua had entered the house, chased her to the camper, and continued to assault her there. Although Dana complained of pain and redness on her face, no obvious signs of injury were observed by the officers.

Subsequently, officers visited the Campbell residence on Columbus Avenue in Bellefontaine to speak with Joshua. He was found in the camper, where he showed several scratches on his arms, chest, and stomach. Joshua initially provided a detailed account of the incident, stating Dana was intoxicated and had attacked him. He also mentioned having recorded the incident on his phone but refused to show the video or allow officers to photograph his injuries, expressing that he did not want to get Dana in trouble.

Joshua’s non-compliance with requests for evidence collection led to his arrest for Obstructing Official Business. He was transported to the Logan County Jail.

Returning to the residence, officers encountered Dana again, who had left the hospital without informing the medical staff. Dana reiterated her claims of being attacked by Joshua both in the house and in the camper, though no new physical evidence was found. The previously observed redness on her face had disappeared by the time of the second examination. Dana was arrested for Domestic Violence and transported to the Logan County Jail.
