Garber picked up on felony warrant, methamphetamine recovered

Bellefontaine Police and medics were called out to a residence in the 100 block of West Buckingham Avenue Wednesday night for a possible overdose.

Upon arrival, authorities located Amanda Garber, 40, at large, sleeping in a back room.

Garber was uncooperative and claimed she was fine, but she was just sleeping off her past drug use.

She admitted to smoking marijuana but denied taking any other drugs.

While on scene, officers learned Garber had an outstanding warrant for her arrest for contempt of court through the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities observed a book bag on the floor that was unzipped and contained an orange pill bottle with a plastic bag and a small piece of foil inside it which is consistent with illegal drug use.

The substance inside the foil was field tested and returned positive for methamphetamine.

Garber agreed to go with medics to Mary Rutan Hospital to be evaluated. Once she was medically cleared, Garber was transported to the Logan County Jail.

She was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and served her warrant.
