A Springfield man wanted on felony charges in Tennessee was arrested Saturday evening following a traffic stop in Bellefontaine.
According to the Bellefontaine Police Department, an officer was traveling westbound on East Sandusky Avenue around 7:42 p.m. on Sunday, June 21, when he observed a black Saturn Vue stopped in the eastbound lane of travel.
After turning around to investigate, the officer observed the vehicle begin moving and initiated a traffic stop after it pulled into the Speedway gas station at the corner of North Hayes Street and East Sandusky Avenue.
The driver told officers that he and his girlfriend were delivering groceries for Walmart.
When asked for his driver’s license, the driver stated he did not have it with him and instead provided his Social Security number.
A records check identified the driver as 44-year-old Anthony Morgan of Springfield.
