The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Marysville Post is investigating a two-vehicle crash that left two drivers with serious injuries on Monday evening.
The incident occurred around 6:20 PM on County Road 10, near Township Road 179, near Bellefontaine.
According to the Patrol, a 2003 Honda Accord, driven by 20-year-old Chloe L. Gallagher of Bellefontaine, was traveling northwest on County Road 10 when it collided head-on with a 2019 Buick Encore.
The Buick, driven by 58-year-old Sharon A. Schlabach of West Liberty, was heading southeast on the same road.
Both drivers sustained serious injuries in the crash.
Gallagher was life-flighted to Grant Medical Center by MedFlight, while Schlabach was transported by Tri-Valley EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted by several local agencies, including the Bellefontaine Police Department, Bellefontaine Fire Department, MedFlight, Tri-Valley Fire & EMS, Ace’s Towing, and Shafer’s Towing.
Preliminary investigations indicate that alcohol was not a factor in the crash, and both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the incident.
This crash remains under investigation.
