A Logan County jury has found Joshua Anderson guilty on five felony charges stemming from a March drug investigation involving cocaine and a child in the home.
The verdict was returned Tuesday after jurors deliberated for less than two hours.
The most serious conviction was complicity to the illegal manufacture of drugs in the presence of a juvenile, a first-degree felony.
Anderson was also found guilty of two counts of trafficking in cocaine, one fourth-degree felony and one fifth-degree felony, endangering children, a third-degree felony, and possession of cocaine, a fifth-degree felony.
During the trial, Anderson’s girlfriend, Jessica Vombaur, testified that Anderson helped her cook powder cocaine into crack cocaine and sell the drugs on March 25, 2026, while their 13-year-old son was inside the home.
Vombaur previously pleaded guilty to illegal manufacture of drugs, a second-degree felony, and agreed to testify against Anderson in exchange for a recommended prison sentence of two to three years. She has not yet been sentenced.
Throughout the trial, Anderson maintained he was not at the residence on March 25 and denied helping Vombaur manufacture or sell drugs.
His attorney argued Vombaur’s testimony was motivated by her plea agreement and desire for a reduced sentence.
Logan County Common Pleas Judge Kevin Braig ordered a pre-sentence investigation and scheduled Anderson’s sentencing for Tuesday, August 4, at 10:00 a.m.
Under Ohio law, the convictions carry a mandatory prison sentence, with the court expected to impose at least the prison term recommended for Vombaur.
Logan County Assistant Prosecutor Nicholas Williams prosecuted the case.
