As the New Year approaches, more people will be on the roads visiting family and friends, but it also brings an increase in drunk driving.
Logan County Sheriff Randy Dodds warns of the dangers of driving after drinking.
“You’re not just putting yourself in danger, you’re putting your passengers and others on the road in danger,” Dodds said.
The excitement of the holidays is a big factor in the increase of drunk driving during this time.
Dodds explains that people celebrate by drinking and may feel they are okay to drive, but they often underestimate the risks.
Many don’t want to take the extra time to arrange a ride, like calling a friend or family member.
Bottom line: Don’t drink and drive!
