Russells Point Police arrested Jeffery Houchins Friday night after a traffic stop on U.S. 33.
Police say Houchins was traveling westbound near West Wilgus Drive around 9:22 p.m. when an officer saw his vehicle cross the white lane line several times.
During the stop, the officer reported a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle and that Houchins showed several signs of intoxication.
Two juveniles were also inside the vehicle.
Houchins was asked to perform field sobriety tests.
Police say he showed several signs of impairment and admitted to drinking several beers.
Before the tests, Houchins told officers he had a firearm, and police removed a loaded black .38 revolver from his right hip.
Houchins was arrested and taken to the Logan County Jail, where he refused to provide a breath sample.
A search of the vehicle turned up a tumbler containing beer and an ice chest containing glass bottles of beer.
Houchins faces charges of OVI, improper handling of a firearm, endangering children and marked lanes.
He is scheduled to appear in Bellefontaine Municipal Court Monday at 9 a.m.
