A 32-year-old Bellefontaine man is facing OVI and child endangerment charges after a traffic stop Sunday evening in Bellefontaine.

Dylan Watson was stopped around 5:45 p.m. on Eastern Avenue near Summit Drive after an officer clocked his vehicle traveling 40 miles per hour in a 25-mile-per-hour zone.

During the stop, Watson showed several signs of impairment and said that he had been at a local restaurant with his son and had drunk two beers.

He then failed field sobriety tests and was arrested.

At the police department, Watson provided a breath sample that measured 0.173, more than two times the legal limit.

Because Watson’s son was in the vehicle, officers arranged for a sober neighbor to take the child and the vehicle to a nearby residence.

Watson was taken to the Logan County Jail.

He faces charges of operating a vehicle while impaired, operating a vehicle with a prohibited blood alcohol concentration of 0.17 or higher, and child endangerment.

He was also cited for speeding.
