A 49-year-old Huntsville man was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence (OVI) on Wednesday after a traffic stop on US Route 33 near Township Road 239.

According to Washington Township Police, officers were on patrol when they saw a vehicle make a marked lane and stop sign violation.

The driver, identified as Joshua Spurlock, was pulled over just after 8 PM.

When officers approached Spurlock’s vehicle, he showed several signs of impairment.

Initially, Spurlock denied consuming any alcoholic beverages but later admitted to drinking.

He was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which led to his arrest on suspicion of OVI.

Once transported to the county jail, Spurlock refused to submit to a breath test, which further compounded the charges against him.

In addition to OVI, Spurlock now faces charges for the marked lanes and stop sign violations.

Spurlock was then released to a sober driver.
