Residents and visitors are invited to rediscover the charm and history of downtown Bellefontaine through a new interactive event hosted by Logan County Libraries.

The library system has launched its inaugural Downtown Scavenger Hunt, a free, all-ages activity designed to encourage participants to explore the architecture, landmarks, and hidden details that make the downtown district unique.

The event is being held in partnership with the Logan County Visitors Bureau.

Participants will take part in an “I Spy”-style experience, using a photo-based checklist to locate specific features such as historic buildings, murals, signs, and other architectural elements scattered throughout downtown.

Game sheets became available starting May 4, and the scavenger hunt will run through August 31, allowing plenty of time for families and individuals to participate at their own pace.

To get started, participants can pick up game sheets at the main desk of Knowlton Library or at the Logan County Chamber Office.

Completed sheets must be returned to Logan County Libraries by August 31 for a chance to win Chamber Choice Gift Certificates.

“Our Downtown Scavenger Hunt is a fantastic way to enjoy a leisurely stroll downtown while appreciating the rich history our town has to offer,” said Beverly Arlequeeuw, Executive Director of Logan County Libraries. “We encourage everyone to get their sneakers on, explore the downtown area, and win some awesome prizes.”
